Breaded Pork Chops with Italian Seasoning

Italian SeasoningHere’s a breaded pork chop recipe that works great with both boneless pork chops and chops with the bone in. I use bread crumbs and Italian Seasoning for extra flavor. You can substitute the bread crumbs with flour and the Italian Seasoning with Lipton Onion Soup mix for another flavorful variation.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 (2.0 ounce) packet of Italian Seasoning
  • 4 – 6 boneless or bone-in pork chops

Equipment

  • Tongs
  • Glass baking dish
  • Gallon size plastic zip bag

Directions

1.    Pre-heat oven to 425°F. Place butter in glass baking dish then place dish into the oven.

2.    Rinse the pork chops and pat them dry with a paper towel or kitchen cloth. Set aside.

3.    Add the bread crumbs and Italian Seasoning to a gallon size plastic zip bag. Shake well to combine all ingredients. Set aside.

4.    Remove the baking dish from the oven (once the butter is melted).

5.    Place one pork chop into the bag. Seal and shake the bag until pork chop is coated with the bread crumb/Italian Seasoning mixture. Use the tongs to place the pork chop into the glass dish (butter and baking dish should be hot). Repeat with the remaining pork chops.

6.    Place the glass dish back into the oven. Bake 10 minutes; turn pork chops. Bake about 5-10 minutes longer or until juice is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut.
