There’s just something about an inspirational song that helps you put things in perspective. Don’t Worry Be Happy struck a chord (pun intended) with a lot of people in 1988 when it won a Grammy for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Every time I hear the songs I think back to those cherished “Mommy and Me” moments when I sang my baby girl to sleep. To make the songs even more personal, I would replace the word “baby” with “Gabby”.

As a toddler, she now finds the Bless My Little Girl songs more entertaining than soothing. I love to watch her sing and dance to “Itty Bitty Baby Girl”. She floats across the room, spinning and twirling like a ballerina. It’s a beautiful thing to see -a sweet role reversal. I still remember when she was a newborn and the way she looked at me while I sang and danced as I cradled her in my arms… her eyes following my every move.

I took my daughter to a free Gymboree class just to see what it was like. If you’ve ever been to Gymboree with your child then you know the most exciting part of the visit is when the instructor blows the Gymboree Bubble Oodles!

We both enjoyed the Gymboree bubbles so much that I ended up buying them and playing with them the rest of the day.

According to Gymboree, the secret to the Bubble Oodles is the five bubble ports which make oodles of bubbles with one easy blow. There’s even a Gymboree Bubble Play kit that includes bubble sports, fun bubble-counting songs, and creative ideas for bubble art.

It’s funny the fascination that kids (and adults alike) have with bubbles. Perhaps the best thing about bubbles is they are a small inexpensive way to have a boat load of fun!

My mom would play Baby Einstein videos for her during the day while my husband and I worked. She watched the videos with her and pointed shapes, colors and other objects on the television screen. I did the same whenever I watched Baby Einstein. Although she is a preschooler, she still requests the videos from time to time. I find it amazing how she clearly identifies things around the house, outdoors, etc. and describes items using complete sentences.

Almost everyone in our family is a fan of the videos so on her first birthday we purchased a Baby Einstein Cake  from Publix grocery store. 

We were also able to find Baby Einstein toothpaste with the lion she loves in the Baby Einstein video Baby Newton Fun with Shapes.

My daughter just loves her Dirt Devil Toy Vacuum and I’m using it to help teach her about chores.

Right now her chores consist of …

• Picking up her toys and clothes and putting them away
• Cleaning up her food and drinks when spills occur
• Holding the dust pan steady while I sweep

and of course…vacuuming!

She used to be scared of vacuums and would run from them every time she saw one. Now she loves to vacuum so much, I usually wait to do that particular chore until she can join me!

I personally use the Home Touch Steamer to freshen up upholstery and to steam clean dresses and the occasional blouse.
