Create Memorable Welcome Gift Baskets
Everyone loves to receive gifts. Treat your house guests to a heart warming gesture by placing a welcome gift basket in the room where they will be staying. Keep in mind that you don’t have to actually use a basket. Be creative. Try cute yet practical storage containers such as hat boxes, tin cans, etc.
Here are some ideas to help you create the perfect welcome gift basket. Fill a basket or other container with the following items:
- current magazines of interest
- a copy of the daily news (if they are a newshound)
- a notepad, pen or even a journal
- lip balm
- hand lotion
- chewing gum or mints
- bottled water
You may also want to include snack size cookies, crackers and chips so that your houseguests have something to snack on in their room without having to prepare a meal. Pick up tourist brochures from a nearby hotel to include in the welcome gift basket or purchase local magazines so guests can get ideas of things they would like to do while in town. Decorate the basket and place it next to a bed tray that can be used for reading or writing in bed. The simple yet thoughtful gesture of creating a guest welcome basket is special touch that goes a long way.
