Now I remember hearing the story when I was little but for some reason I don’t recall the fact that the wolf swallowed the Grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood whole!

Maybe I wasn’t listening attentively because something like that I wouldn’t soon forget. So when I read it to my daughter for the first time I was a little taken a back. I was intrigued enough that even though she fell asleep soon after the massive gobble, I kept reading to see how the story would end.

The illustrations are wonderful especially the pictures and description of the Raisin muffins and soup. Each time I read the part where Little Red Riding Hood makes the tasty vittles for her daughter to take to Grandmama makes me want to whip up my own rendition of the two to enjoy as I leaf through the pages.

Brother Bear gets into a box. Papa Bear turns the box upside down, takes it outside, and puts it on a truck. The simple art and rhyming text make this a perfect choice for teaching spatial concepts.
