Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
Here’s a rich and creamy Vanilla Butter Cream Frosting recipe that sure to become a staple when icing cookies, cakes and cupcakes.
Ingredients
- 2 ½ sticks of unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 5 cups of powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1-3 tablespoons of milk
Directions
- Place the softened butter into a large bowl. Use a mixer (on medium speed) to cream the butter.
- Add 1 cup of powdered sugar. Mix until creamy. Repeat for the remaining 4 cups of powdered sugar, mixing until creamy after each cup.
- Add the vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix on high speed until creamy. Add addtional tablespoons of milk (mixing after each addition) until frosting is desired consistency.
Makes approximately 4 cups.
TIP
If you have a serious sweet tooth, add additional powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time. Blend until smooth after each addition. Add additional milk as needed, 1 tablespoon at a time.
